Famous Dubailand landmark in Dubai

If you think the world has seen too many theme parks, then Dubai goes even further with its concept of a mega theme park. It promises to be bigger than the Disney parks; in fact, the development covers all three billion square foot of land. Dubailand was officially launched in 2003 and completion is set between 2008 and 2010. The developers are looking towards attracting 200,000 visitors a day during its full blown operations come 2010.

Once fully completed, Dubailand will easily take over that title since it is expected to attract 200,000 visitors daily.

Notably, Dubailand is divided into seven zones or worlds to fulfill its complete entertainment reputation. These include the Attractions and Experience World where various theme parks including the proposed Legoland, Universal Studios and Dreamworks Studios Theme Park among others; the Retail and Entertainment world where crazy shoppers can go wild; Themed Leisure and Vacation World where unique Dubai attractions gets special attention; Eco-Tourism World where animal and natural wonders become the centre of attraction; Sports and Outdoor World for tourists with active and sporty lifestyles; Downtown where the Mall of Arabia, said to be the world’s largest mall, will be sectioned; and the Science and Planetarium World that houses a Space Academy.

Truly, Dubailand is an ambitious project that is soon going to take the world by storm. Apart from the other landmarks of Dubai, this immense entertainment offering will make the country the most preferred tourist destination when it is in full operation.
