Famous Landmarks in Dubai
The city of Dubai is the commercial center of the United Arab Emirates or UAE. Located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula and South West corner of the Arabian Gulf, this country has 365 days of warm sunshine. Also, Dubai has cooler evenings and slight rain during the months of November and March.The country has many events throughout the year. May it be rugby, sailing, horse racing, golf and air shows, Dubai is a very lively country with 79% of its inhabitants employed.

Dubai also has magnificent tourist spots of natural and man-made beauty. These spots are mostly split between Bur Dubai and Deira that are on opposite sides of the Dubai Creek, which in itself is a attraction as well. On the Deira side, you can find the historic Bastakia quarter, covered marketplaces, the Spice Souk, and the Gold Souk. The Dubai Museum is also located here. It is housed within the Al Fahidi Fort which was completely and beautifully restored. The fort was initially built in 1799 to ward off invaders and over the years has served as a prison and palace.
On the Bur Dubai side, the Heritage Village, located in the Shindagah area, where tourists can watch craftsmen at work. The adjoining Diving Village, where pearl diving and fishing offers a cultural insight. Also, the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, which is a museum restored from Dubai’s former ruler’s house that dated back from the 1800’s.
The very popular suburb of Jumeria is located west from the city. Here you can find the finest luxury hotels and resorts in Dubai. With their unspoiled stretches of sunny beaches and water sport complex, the Jumeria area is truly a vacation paradise.
The first indoor ski resort in the Middle East finds its home in Dubai. With its 22,500 square meter area and controlled temperature of -1 to -2 degrees, this frigid resort give you real snow in a land of sand. It also has a multitude of retail shops, restaurants and holds the title largest Snow Park in the world.
